What does the raw materials contact point do?

Discover the support services of the Raw Materials Contact Point! We are the central point of contact for companies in need for raw materials and suppliers of such materials. In addition to mineral resources and intermediate goods, we also focus on circular economy and recycling.

The contact point is a joint initiative of the German Raw Materials Agency (DERA) at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), and Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), which supports German companies in securing raw materials. By pooling our strengths and utilizing our networks, we offer you comprehensive service. Particularly noteworthy are the raw material competence centers at eight German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), which are part of the German Mining Networks.

The German Raw Materials Agency (DERA), part of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), continuously monitors, analyses, and evaluates global raw material potential and markets for mineral resources and of recycled raw materials. DERA offers information and advice on raw materials for German businesses.​

Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI)

Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) is the foreign trade and investment agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. We inform German small and medium-sized enterprises about opportunities and risks in foreign markets and provide guidance to foreign companies interested in establishing a presence in Germany. Additionally, we promote Germany’s location advantages abroad and support the internationalization of businesses in regions affected by structural change. In addition, GTAI offers comprehensive information on resource rich countries.

As the umbrella organization for the 79 Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs), the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) represents over three million businesses across all industries and regions in Germany, ranging from small to large enterprises. The DIHK also coordinates the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs). With approximately 150 offices in 93 countries, the AHKs support German companies in their economic activities worldwide.​

German Mining Network

The German Mining Network assists German companies with raw material security, supply, project exploration, and business partnerships, as well as market entry strategies.
