Established in 1995, Schaefer Kalk (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is 100% owned by Schaefer Kalk GmbH & Co, KG, Germany. Based in Diez, which is 70 kilometres northwest of Frankfurt. The Schaefer Kalk Group has been involved in the production of calcium products since 1860. The German company employs about 700 staff and produces a wide range of high-quality calcium-based products. The research and development department based in Hahnstatten, Germany and Schaefer Kalk (Malaysia)’s research and development facilities in Kuala Ketil, Kedah develop many products to match the specific demands of customers. Schaefer Kalk (Malaysia) has established a fully automatic production process to produce high quality calcium products. Capacity is 70,000 tons annually of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC (USP Grade)), 100,000 tons annually of calcium hydroxide with purity above 98% and Calcium Oxide >140,000 metric tons annually.
