German Speaking Society Kuala Lumpur (GSSKL)

The German Speaking Society Kuala Lumpur is a Society and, metaphorically speaking, a home away from home for German, Austrian and Swiss nationals. Our society gives interested people in Malaysia an insight into German-speaking cultures and promotes friendship and understanding of Malaysia’s cultural diversity. The Society endeavors to bring together people of different nationalities and cultures living in Malaysia through a host of activities, building a bridge to provide a platform for an exchange of information and unity on issues of common interest. The Society produces the only German language publication in Malaysia, the KL-Post on a bi-monthly basis. Regular meetups are hosted such as the Sundowner and Coffee mornings, as well as activities including visits to places of interest in and around Kuala Lumpur and beyond, lectured walking tours to the highlights of Kuala Lumpur as well as luncheons and outdoor activities. The highlight in the Society’s Calendar of Events is the annual Christmas Charity Bazaar, where the profit generated is donated to charitable organisations.
