Dual Vocational Training Partnership with Nigeria: The vocational education and training partnership initiated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Giessen-Friedberg (http://www. giessen-friedberg.ihk.de) joins the German cooperation as one element of sustainable economic development. It focuses the improvement of vocational education quality within Nigerian enterprises by a better combination of theory and practice. With this approach, it contributes to the employability among the Nigerian youth and hence to poverty reduction. It also contributes positively to the transfer of technical know-how through practice oriented training, thereby promoting professional training, increasing the employability of the partaking trainees and improving the quality and services of companies involved. The Energy and Environment desk was established in September 2012 as a department of DGIC Nigeria trying to access the needs of Nigerian entrepreneurs in the area of Renewable Energy (RE) and environment.
